Hello, and welcome back to the 2022-23 School year!

My name is Christy Schwertfeger. The students refer to me as Miss Christy. I am the Student Services staff at the High School. I will be providing a variety of services to students this year and I wanted to let you know what services are available and ways in which you can contact me.

Student Services provides support services to students who are referred to the Student Assistance Program. Referrals can come from families, school staff, friends, and the students themselves. When I meet with a student who is referred for services, I determine what, if any, services will help meet the needs of the student and refer them to those services. I will contact the student’s parent/guardian if it is determined that the student is in need of support services beyond the scope of practice that I can provide at school, or if it is determined that Student Services will be providing long term support in some way.

In addition to referring students to appropriate support services, I see students in crisis and facilitate small lunchtime support and educational student groups. I also will be providing classroom prevention programs in the classrooms this year. Students will be given parent letters that they will be instructed to show you that will contain information about the programs that will be implemented.

I will be facilitating a Youth Led program again this year that will be meeting during lunch times each week. This is an opportunity for students to become involved in making positive changes in the school and working together as a team to make a difference!

I want you to know that you can contact me anytime during school hours by calling the main office at the Middle School or by emailing me at [email protected]

Sincerely,
Christy Schwertfeger,
High School Student Services staff
